Update on Rex We wanted to let everyone know that Rex passed peacefully last night, surrounded by family and so much love
We’re completely heartbroken but we’re comforted knowing he’s no longer in pain. Every single donation went toward his treatments and care until the very end. We’re devastated that we couldn’t save our boy, but he fought so hard until the very end and was truly the best boy we could’ve ever asked for.
Thank you all so much for the kindness, love, and support you’ve shown us through this. It truly meant the world to Rex and to us. So many of you have reached out and shared your own stories with us, and we deeply appreciate all the warmth and compassion we’ve received during this difficult time
We’re so grateful to have such a supportive community from close friends to kind strangers online. Thank you all again for everything you’ve done for us. We know Rex is in a good place now. ️
Please give your pets an extra hug from us tonight for Rex
We had originally closed this GoFundMe, but after receiving messages from kind people wanting to help, we’ve reopened it to help cover Rex’s remaining medical bills. Any additional donations we receive will be donated to other pets in need of life-saving treatments or to local shelters
Urgent Help for Rex: The Sweetest Husky is Fighting Pancreatitis Rex has been a big part of our family since he was a puppy. At just 4 ½ years old, he’s known not only as our loyal companion and family, but also as one of the calmest, sweetest, and goofiest huskies you could ever meet. Friends, neighbors, and even strangers often compliment his gentle nature and ask us how we got him to be like that, but it's just in his nature since he was a puppy. He brings comfort and joy to everyone around him.
Last Sunday night, our beloved boy was rushed to the emergency hospital after violent vomiting, diarrhea, and extreme lethargy. The diagnosis was severe pancreatitis. When he arrived, his body was in crisis: his fever, blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate were all dangerously high.
These past few days have been really hard for our family. Watching Rex struggle has been heartbreaking, and the financial strain of emergency care has been overwhelming. His treatment requires multiple days of intensive hospitalization, IV fluids, strong pain medication, and continuous monitoring, plus additional testing to rule out other possible issues.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help cover the essential, life-saving care Rex needs. This covers the accumulating costs of his care, including the round-the-clock specialists, medications, and testing required to keep him stable until he can eat and recover at home.
Rex means the world to us. Our greatest wish is to see him healthy, happy, and back home with his family. Our home is not the same without his goofy yet sweet energy there.
How Your Support Can Help We are asking for your help to cover the cost of Rex’s hospitalization and essential treatment. Every dollar raised will go directly toward:
24/7 Hospitalization and Specialist Care IV Fluid Therapy and Medications Continuous Monitoring and Bloodwork Ultrasound and X-Ray Imaging Additional Tests, including screening for parvo, tick-borne illnesses, and other potential health concerns
Any amount—big or small—will make a difference and bring us one step closer to getting Rex the care he needs. Even if you're not in a place to donate, just spreading the word about it helps us greatly. Thank you so much for your time and for reading through this, your support means the world to Rex and our family during this time.
